According to the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT) scores Buckeye Christian Schools and Temple Christian Academy consistently score higher than their public counterparts!
How Well Does Your School Achieve? Check out how your local schools are performing. These reports can also be found through the Ohio Department of Education and The Nation's Report Card (www.reportcard.ohio.gov). You will discover that some are doing well while others have much ground to make up. Notice the Performance Index for each school. With a possible score of 120, schools achieving over 100 are considered Excellent. Only Washington achieves this.) Schools achieving in the 90's are considered Effective. Schools achieving in the 80's are designated Continuous Improvement. Only when a school achieves in the 70's does it fall into the category of Academic Watch. Not until the score in the 60's and below (out of 120) is it considered an Academic Emergency. Five out of the ten schools listed have achieved their Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). A small Christian school may not have all of the facilities available to larger federally funded schools, however, we are able to achieve above average result with below average resources! The people, the philosophy and the personal touch make the difference!
Recently, Pastors Click, and Chris Brown (New Lexington, OH) represented the Buckeye Association of Christian Schools in Washington, DC. Coordinating with the American Association of Christian Schools they visited the offices of both Ohio senators and ten Ohio congressmen speaking on educational issues as well as other issues important to churches, Christians and the family.
